Killing for Company was a five-piece Welsh rock band that mean a lot to Elaine and I, because they were the first band we “discovered” together. We first saw them in Newcastle in April 2010, but tragically their drummer Stuart Cable (formerly of Stereophonics) passed away less than two months’ later.
We never had the chance to meet Stuart, but at various gigs over the subsequent months, we got to know the rest of this special band, and lasting friendships have been made because of Killing for Company…
19 May 2020 would have been Stuart’s 50th birthday, and to pay my small tribute to a man known as “the Duke”, and to say thank you to Greg, Andy, Steve, Richie, Jamie and Aled (below), I will soon start training for a 50km row – a kilometre for every year - on an indoor rowing machine; which I will attempt on the day of his birthday.
There will be no fundraising, just an opportunity to try and bring people together – something that Stuart Cable and Killing for Company did so wonderfully well.
