Complete "Dry January"
Nothing original about the first test for the New Year … but hopefully 31 days without alcohol will make a positive difference as the serious training for May’s 50km row gets underway. As well as the physical endurance, I’m going to need plenty of mental strength to complete the rowing challenge, and “Dry January” represents the perfect opportunity to work on my will power. If I am going to achieve my goal in May, improved nutrition and hydration will be massively important too, but task number one for 2020 (and no.103 in all) is to abstain from alcohol throughout January. It won’t be easy (especially with yet another work restructure due to be announced), but if I succeed, I will guarantee that Saturday 1 February will be very messy indeed!
