A few months ago, via my blog, I met up (in the virtual sense) with someone I hadn’t seen in a quarter of a century. Back then, she was Margaret Trow... godmother to my elder daughter... now she is Maggie Lennard, radio presenter and... godmother to my elder daughter.
It’s one of the weirdest, but best things about the age of
computers and social networks that you can be in a sense “reunited” with friends from times-gone-by. Like most people, I have changed an awful lot since the mid-80s, not just physically, but experience certainly shapes part of your personality... so in a sense it makes it even nicer when someone you knew way-back-when pops into your life...
Margaret/Maggie (delete as appropriate) lives in Tenerife; she is married to Ian, who hails from Teesside (and I can certainly recommend marrying someone from that part of the world)... and like I said, she presents a midweek radio show on the island’s Oasis FM.
So if you fancy a bit of a change from the shows to which you normally listen, then why not tune in between 3pm and 6pm Monday to Friday? There’s plenty of chat and quite a range of music; I’ve not heard any tracks by Killing for Company yet, but I’ve not given up hope... and there’s a chance you might just get a quick mention on Tenerife’s official British radio station as well...
Maggie (shortened name being used for blog purposes only) gave me a name check during the week... and added that growing up in York meant my voice sounded “posh”... which is a bit harsh, but I’m sure I’ll get my own back...
Anyway, I’ve attached a link to the live feed... which hopefully will work... if not, just twiddle the dial on FM until you hear the dulcet tones of Amy Turtle...
One-all Mrs Lennard!! x
All my own work... almost.
