One Take Charlie - take two!
After the "success" (and I realise it's relative) of "Jimmy Jimmy", the four members of One Take Charlie agreed to return to the studio and record a version of the Blink-182 track "All the Small Things". A limited run of CDs of "Jimmy Jimmy" were produced, with 30 being offered for sale and all the profits being donated to Zoe's Place Baby Hospice in Normanby. The possibility of raising a bit more money for such a wonderful cause is the main reason behind the decision to record for a second time; and we chose this Blink-182 single from the album "Enema of the State" partly because it is one of V12's most popular songs - but it was also the track that I attempted to sing live with the band as one of my 100 "challenges" back in 2018.
Update ... 31/12/19
I think I may have slightly jumped the proverbial gun by including this challenge for 2020 ... as the song was actually recorded on 30 December 2019. That said, it won't be heard until the New Year, so I suppose it still counts - sort of. We were also very fortunate to have the opportunity of working with a guest vocalist - Lucia Rovardi Tomlinson. Lucia is an actor who has appeared in the West End; she's a writer, a fantastic singer, she's performed stand-up comedy, and I just bet she's a good bloody dancer too...
In all seriousness, I am so pleased Lucia was willing to take part; she sounded amazing, and I'm really looking forward to hearing how our voices work together. Having a "featured artist" wasn't the only difference between this and our first recording, as I tinkled an ivory or two to supplement the real musicians; Carl, Adam, and the wonderfully-assured Megan on bass. My contribution wasn't much, but you can guarantee I'll be credited "vocals and keyboards" when the CD cover gets designed!
Hopefully the final track will be ready for you to hear pretty soon. You can never say never, but the likelihood is that our second recording will also be our last; and if so, let's hope One Take Charlie finishes on a high with a great song that can help to raise some more much-needed funds for Zoe's place Baby Hospice.

And here's how it sounds...
I really like the overall sound, but it's not exactly difficult to spot the non-singer/ musician! Please feel free to share and there'll be a further update when there's some news on the CDs. As always ... form an orderly queue! Massive thanks to Carl, Adam, Megan and Lucia for all being fantastic.
